With their fifth studio album 'Arirang,' BTS has managed to capture leading positions on major weekly music charts, both within South Korea and internationally.
Data from Hanteo Chart, an album sales tracking service, revealed on the 30th that BTS's latest album 'Arirang' secured the top spot on both the weekly world chart and album chart for the period of March 23-29. Remarkably, the album climbed to the top of the charts just three days after its release on March 20th and held its position for two consecutive weeks, starting from the third week of March.

According to a preliminary report released by the American music media outlet Billboard on the 30th, 'Arirang' has claimed the number one position on the main album chart, the 'Billboard 200,' for the week dated April 4. The album made its debut with 641,000 album units, setting a remarkable record for group album sales since unit tracking began in December 2014. Notably, 532,000 of these units were pure album sales, encompassing both physical and digital purchases, establishing a new benchmark for the highest weekly sales for a group album in more than a decade.
The album's success extends to global music charts as well. BTS dominated the weekly charts on Spotify, a prominent global audio and music streaming platform, for the period of March 20-26. They led in categories such as 'Weekly Top Albums,' 'Weekly Top Songs,' and 'Weekly Top Artists' on the global stage. Specifically, the album's lead track 'SWIM' soared to the first position on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart, while all 14 tracks from 'Arirang' found their place within the top 30.
The track 'SWIM' consistently held the number one position on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for nine days (March 20-28) and seven days (March 23-29), respectively. Furthermore, each track from the album appeared in the latest chart rankings on both platforms. This consistent performance, even ten days post-release, demonstrates the widespread appreciation and enthusiasm among global music audiences, not just for the title track but for the entire album.
Concurrently, BTS is set to perform at the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' scheduled to take place at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. The group will also be embarking on stadium tours across South America, including stops in Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil in October. All 46 performances, including those in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have sold out rapidly, underscoring BTS's exceptional ticket-selling influence.
